Handmade auroras, 2016
Participatory piece. Video installation and sound piece.

Handmade Auroras is a collaborative piece with experimental musician Luis Herráiz created for the 'Metamorphosis' exhibition at the Breverly Tap Gallery in Folkestone, UK.

It takes its translation from the Sami word for auroras, Guovssahas, which means "the light that can be heard."

It delves into the current fascination with this phenomenon, which has led to the commercialization of gadgets and toys that project galaxies, constellations, and multi-colored auroras onto the ceiling of our rooms. Visitors to the exhibition were invited to participate in the piece and create their own auroras with different types of light on holographic and dischroic surfaces, turning it into a manual and artisanal process.
