Chaos Lumineux, 2020

Digital photography on light boxes. 50 x 65 cm each.

Produced thanks to the Injuve (Production grant) .

The term Chaos Lumineux refers to the patterns of light, colour and distorted shapes that we visualize when rubbing our eyes.

We never stop seeing. The idea that we can see total darkness is an illusion since our brain does not distinguish real light from that generated by our active nerves. When you close your eyes, a type of visual noise appears. A series of luminous spots of different bright colors which are difficult to describe and they resemble digital colors.

This effect is similar to the noise that the camera produces when it forces the searching for light in dark environments. They seem as big grainy abstract surfaces.
