Crary. "[...] Julia Kristeva’s speculations on the likelihood that blue is perceived by the rods of the retina’s periphery, as opposed to the fovea which perceives stable forms. A possible hypothesis, she writes, “would be that the perception of blue entails not identifying the object; that blue is, precisely, on this side of or beyond the object’s fixed form; that it is the zone where phenomenal identity vanishes.
